Genoa Racing Hires Ragan
As Crew Chief for Its ALMS LMPC Campaign
 
ZIONSVILLE, Ind., Jan. 26 - Genoa Racing is pleased to announce that it has 
hired Steve Ragan as crew chief for its entry into the Le Mans Prototype 
Challenge (LMPC) division of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) this year.
 
The announcement was made today at the team headquarters in Zionsville, 
Ind., by Thomas Knapp, the team manager.
 
Ragan served as a crew chief and a project manager for de Ferran 
Motorsports the last two years.  That team finished second in the ALMS' LMP1 class 
last season with five victories and seven pole positions.
 
Prior to joining de Ferran Motorsports Ragan served as team manager for 
Hattori Woodland Racing's ARCA RE/MAX and NASCAR Nationwide Series stock car 
programs, as well as Conquest Racing's Atlantic program.  
 
He has also served as crew chief for Panther Racing (IndyCar Series), 
Fernandez Racing/Super Aguri Fernandez Racing (CART and IndyCar), Forsythe 
Championship Racing (CART) and Tasman Motorsports Group (CART and Indy Lights).  
 
"We're very pleased to have someone with Steve's experience in this 
position as we transition to the ALMS," said Knapp.  "We take delivery of our new 
car the first week of February, so he'll be very busy as we prepare it for 
the series' winter test at Sebring Feb. 22-23."
 
The season opener, the prestigious Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, will be 
held at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Fla., March 17-20.
 
 "I've known Thomas Knapp since the mid-nineties, and we both respect each 
other's work," Ragan said. "I'm very happy to have the opportunity to work 
with him and to continue to be involved in the ALMS, because I've really 
enjoyed working in that series in the last few years. Genoa's LMPC program is a 
new challenge, and I'm anxious to get started!"
